Artist Profile
Mark Levine
I am an animator with a wide range of experience working on feature films (including Barnyard), video game cinematics and, cinematics for a middle-school math curriculum. Throughout those various projects, I have animated people and animals, using a diverse array of animation styles. My skill set includes 3d computer (Maya, 3ds Max, XSI), 2d computer (AfterEffects, some Flash), Stop-motion (including sand-on-glass, and cutouts), mixed media, etc. I went to school for animation at the UCLA Animation Workshop (MFA program.) My student film, ‘Unborn Baby Blues’ won a whole bunch of awards - first place in the student category at the World Animation Celebration; 24th Student Academy Award gold medal winner in animation (yes, a real Academy Award); second place in traditional animation at the Television Academy College Awards; first place in student animation at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival; Best Animated Film in South Beach Film Festival; runner-up for the Audience Favorite Award at the $100 Film Festival of Calgary; and it screened in the ‘Best of the Fest’ at the Pacific Coast Film Festival. It is now appearing on Channel Frederator, episode 106 (its the second of three short films in this episode). You can discover more about me and view more of my work on my website.
